Study shows LD diesels gaining popularity

A study recently compiled by Diesel Technology Forum (DTF), using data provided by Polk Automotive Intelligence, shows that the number of registered light-duty diesel vehicles in the United States jumped 31 percent in 2005 over the previous year. In 2004, slightly more than 33,500 light-duty diesels were registered, compared to more than 44,000 in 2005. Vehicles in the light-duty diesel category include the Mercedes Benz E-320; the Jeep Liberty; and the Golf, Jetta, Beetle, Passat and Touareq models from Volkswagen.
