Tri-State Ethanol Company, LLC announced this month that it has reached its own record production rate of 18 mmgy. The Rosholt, S.D. ethanol plant came online in May 2002, and was originally projected to produce 14 mmgy. The plant is located 70 miles north of Watertown, S.D. and employs 29 area people. Engineering and start-up support for expansion efforts were provided by KL Process Design Group of Rapid City, S.D., and Greenway Consulting from Morris, Minn. General contracting was provided by North Central Construction, of Fargo, N.D.
All ethanol produced by the plant is marketed through Williams Bio-Energy, LLC.
