U.S. Pair Wants Labels on Pumps

Stan Cotton and Orrie Swayze have launched another campaign to put down foreign oil, The Associated Press reported Aug. 3. Cotton and Swayze partnered with the South Dakota Veterans of Foreign Wars last year to erect billboards reading "Foreign oil funds terrorism." Now the two men are using their Foreign Oil Independence League to draft a bill demanding that country-of-origin labels be placed on gasoline pumps. Their theory follows that if a consumer is given the choice of two pumps and one is labeled American and one is labeled Iraqi, the consumer will choose the American fuel. EP
