The Finnish Market Court has ruled in an infringement suit filed by Neste against UPM. According to the court’s decision, the process used at the UPM Lappeenranta Biorefinery is not within the scope of Neste’s patent (FI 100248) and, as a result, UPM is not infringing on Neste’s patent.

The company says business and the deliveries of wood-based UPM BioVerno diesel, based on its own innovation, will continue as usual.
