Agri-Energy sells U.S. biofuels assets

In early January, Australia-based biofuel development company Agri-Energy Ltd. announced the sale of its U.S. biofuels enterprises to a consortium of U.S. investors for $42.5 million. The new U.S. investment company Pangaea Technology Finance will take over Agri-Energy's biodiesel project Beatrice Biodiesel LLC, a 50 MMgy facility in Beatrice, Neb., that is slated to begin production in March, according to Chief Technical Officer David Blythe. The deal also included an adjacent 55 MMgy ethanol project currently under development, he said.
