Algae.Tec Ltd. recently announced two business updates regarding its partnership with India-based Reliance Industries Ltd. and new plans for the company’s test facility in the Atlanta, Georgia, area.
In Jamnagar, India, the company reported that seven containers of equipment, including the photobioreactor module and solar light units, have been shipped on schedule and received at Reliance’s oil refinery. Ground works, equipment erection and plant construction are underway with commissioning of the plant expected to be completed this quarter.

In Georgia, Algae.Tec is building a small-scale algae production plant for nutraceutical applications in the company’s test facilities in Cumming, Georgia. The company is employing its photobioreactor technology for production of high-quality algae products for nutraceutical formulations. Major equipment and materials have been received with final installation underway. Initial commissioning of the plant scheduled for September with ramp up to full capacity by the end of the year. Algae.Tec is continuing the certification process to achieve certified organic status in the U.S., ensuring maximum pricing of nutraceutical algae.
