CHS, U.S. BioEnergy form Provista to market biodiesel, ethanol

Provista, a biodiesel and ethanol marketer, was formally introduced in November as a joint venture between CHS Inc., a food, grain and energy company, and U.S. BioEnergy Corporation, an ethanol producer and marketer. Provista currently has 450 million gallons of ethanol and 85 million gallons of biodiesel under contract. According to Provista's John Litterio, the company has exclusive contracts with Beatrice Biodiesel, a 50 MMgy plant under construction in Beatrice, Neb., and Washington Biodiesel, a 35 MMgy plant under development in Warden, Wash.
