EcoEngineers, a leading software, engineering and energy compliance firm that serves the renewables sector, announced that it has entered into a strategic partnership with McGladrey LLP, a leading provider of assurance, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market, which includes biofuel producers and petroleum refiners. This partnership between EcoEngineers and McGladrey lays the groundwork for a streamlined delivery of energy compliance, tax consulting and auditing services to the renewable fuels industry.

McGladrey will provide general oversight of EcoEngineers auditing procedures and also perform independent attest engagements for all of EcoEngineers’ QAP clients. These added levels of due diligence will further bolster EcoEngineers’ robust RIN QAP verification system. McGladrey’s suite of tax consulting and attestation services will complement EcoEngineers’ energy compliance consulting services.

“The pairing is great,” said Shashi Menon, managing partner of EcoEngineers. “We are registered with the EPA to provide RIN QAP services, and we monitor biofuel production facilities and offers indemnification to downstream RIN buyers, and McGladrey provides audit, attestation and tax consulting services for biofuel producers and obligated parties. Together we can offer a comprehensive suite of verification services and consulting that will bring down costs and benefit the industry. We are excited to work with such a strong partner as McGladrey.”

EcoEngineers' RIN QAP was the industry’s first quality assurance program for RIN verification. The program was officially accepted by the U.S. EPA in February 2013 as a provider of RIN verification services. EcoEngineers’ QAP protocol provides the most flexibility to renewable fuel producers, obligated parties and anyone looking for verification and confidence in RINs markets. “Renewable energy and clean fuels are an important and growing part of the world economy, and energy companies are increasingly looking for providers that offer a suite of solutions that address all their needs,” added Menon.

“We see this as a natural partnership with EcoEngineers,” said McGladrey tax partner Dustin Petersen. “It is important for this industry to provide confidence in the renewable fuel program with quality RIN compliance and verification. We believe this partnership with EcoEngineers provides a comprehensive compliance and consulting solution to the marketplace that will give all constituents the reassurance it needs to further the renewable fuel standard.”
