EDG Fuels' small biodiesel plant up for sale in Tucson, Ariz.

Environmental Development Group has put its small-scale biodiesel facility in Tucson, Ariz., up for sale. The plant, EDG Fuels, has installed capacity of 1 MMgy, according to its website, in addition to tank farm storage capable of holding 60,000 gallons of feedstock and 30,000 gallons of biodiesel in an industrial area of the city.
EDG also has available for sale a modular 3 MMgy skid processor.
The company states it is open to negotiation on the sale, including entertaining a lease-purchase agreement.
The process equipment includes feedstock pretreatment units, such as an Alfa Laval MOPX separator, along with a Hielscher ultrasonic reactor, a 2,800-gallon reactor vessel, a polishing column, a wastewater treatment unit and more. FutureFuel Corp. on March 26 announced the restart of its 59 MMgy biodiesel plant in Batesville, Arkansas. The company’s annual report, released April 4, indicates biodiesel production was down 24% last year when compared to 2023.
Neste has started producing SAF at its renewable products refinery in Rotterdam. The refinery has been modified to enable Neste to produce up to 500,000 tons of SAF per year. Neste’s global SAF production capacity is now 1.5 million tons.
Tidewater Renewables Ltd. has reported that its biorefinery in Prince George, British Columbia, operated at 88% capacity last year. A final investment decision on the company’s proposed SAF project is expected by year end.
