Reps. Mike Flood, R-Neb., and Troy A Carter, Sr., D-La., on Aug. 9 introduced the Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Information Act. The bill directs the U.S. Energy Information Administration to include SAF data in its weekly and monthly reports. 

The bill was referred to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce following its introduction. To date, Reps. Salud O. Carbajal, D-Calif.; Chris Pappas, D-N.H.; Don Bacon, R-Neb.; Hillary J. Scholten, D-Mich.; and Dina Titus, D-N.V., have signed on to cosponsor the legislation. 

The SAF Information Act directs the EIA to include data on SAF in its Petroleum Supply Month report and its Weekly Petroleum Status Report, including data related to the type, origin and volume of feedstock used in the production of SAF, along with the total amount of SAF produced domestically and imported.

Supporters of the Sustainable Aviation Fuel Information Act include the Renewable Fuels Association, National Corn Growers Association, American Soybean Association, the SAF Coalition, Greater New Orleans Inc., American Sugar Cane League, National Corn Growers Association, Growth Energy, Renewable Fuels Nebraska, the Nebraska Soybean Association, the Nebraska Corn Growers Association, and the Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation.
