MPB Bioenergy signs UNH biodiesel production contract

May 1, 2006

The University of New Hampshire (UNH) will soon use a MPB Bioenergy processor to convert waste vegetable oil used in its dining facilities into biodiesel. This product will be used as fuel on campus to heat greenhouses and other facilities, and to power stationary diesel equipment. According to MBP President Jim Proulx, the UNH installation will be the first of many for the company that will enable universities and cities to convert waste into renewable fuel. Interns from the university's Office of Sustainability will collect waste oils at five dining facilities on campus and track the amounts to be recycled.
