Southwestern Biofuels Association launched

The Southwestern Biofuels Association, a nonprofit organization, was launched Aug. 15 in Santa Fe, N.M. The SWBA aims to promote renewable biofuels, focusing on low-water, high-yield crops that can be grown in the Southwest to produce sustainable transportation fuels. The association grew out of the New Mexico Biodiesel Policy Summit held in Albuquerque in March. Immediate goals of the SWBA include expanding membership. Founding board members include Green Earth Fuels LLC, American Renewable Fuels Inc., Sandia National Laboratories and Symbios Technologies LLC.
