The U.S. exported 15,050.4 metric tons of biodiesel and biodiesel blends of B30 or greater in March, according to data released by the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service on May 6. Biodiesel imports were at 14,991.9 metric tons for the month.
The 15,050.4 metric tons of biodiesel exported in March was up when compared to the 7,849.6 metric tons exported in February, but down from 45,891.8 metric tons exported in March of last year.
The U.S. exported biodiesel to approximately four countries in March. Canada was the top destination for U.S. biodiesel exports at 11,205.1 metric tons, followed by Peru at 3,385.3 metric tons and Germany at 450.4 metric tons.

The value of U.S. biodiesel exports was at $15.08 million in March, up from $7.85 million the previous month, but down from $65.75 million in March 2024.
Total biodiesel exports for the first three months of 2025 reached 50,321.9 metric tons at a value of $68 million, compared to 93,149.8 metric tons exported during the same period of last year at a value of $132.71 million.
The 14,991.9 metric tons of biodiesel and biodiesel blends of B30 and greater imported in March was down when compared to both the 21,964.9 metric tons imported in February and the 116,141.1 metric tons imported in March of last year.
The U.S. imported biodiesel from approximately five countries in March. Canada was the top source of U.S. biodiesel imports at 14,923.6 metric tons, followed by France at 50.3 metric tons and Belgium-Luxembourg at 16.2 metric tons.

The value of U.S. biodiesel imports was at $12.32 million in March, down from $17.49 million in February and $164.4 million in March 2024.
Total biodiesel imports for the first quarter of this year reached 46,879.3 metric tons at a value of $40.25 million, compared to 464,342.8 metric tons imported during the same period of last year at a value of $653.59 million.

The U.S. exported 31,160.5 metric tons of biodiesel and biodiesel blends of B30 and greater in May, according to data released by the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service on July 3. Biodiesel imports were 2,226.2 metric tons for the month.
The USDA’s Risk Management Agency is implementing multiple changes to the Camelina pilot insurance program for the 2026 and succeeding crop years. The changes will expand coverage options and provide greater flexibility for producers.
EcoCeres Inc. has signed a multi-year agreement to supply British Airways with sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). The fuel will be produced from 100% waste-based biomass feedstock, such as used cooking oil (UCO).
CARB on June 27 announced amendments to the state’s LCFS regulations will take effect beginning on July 1. The amended regulations were approved by the agency in November 2024, but implementation was delayed due to regulatory clarity issues.
