The U.S. Grains Council recently announced it is soliciting applications for its seven Advisory Teams, known as A-teams, for the 2019-2021 term. This includes the organization’s Ethanol A-team.
A statement released by the USGC explains that A-teams are comprised of USGC members who provide insight and guidance on designated topics to the USGC’s staff and board of directors. The group’s seven A-teams currently focus on ethanol, Asia, innovation and sustainability, Middle East/Africa, trade policy, value-added, and western hemisphere.

“Being an Advisory Team member is a great way to become more knowledgeable about the Council’s export market development work and bring your organization’s perspective and ideas to the Council’s program planning process,” said USGC Chairman Jim Stitzlein in statement released by USGC. “Sharing your expertise provides valuable insight and guidance to the Council staff and the USGC board of directors.”
The USGC said A-team members assist the council in engaging influential decision-makers in global markets to achieve mutual success. Input from A-teams and the USGS’s international staff also forms the backbone of the council’s operational blueprint and long-term planning document, which allows the organization to apply for funds from the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service.
The USGC currently lists 30 members of the Ethanol A-team on its website, including those representing several ethanol plants and a variety of ethanol trade groups. https://grains.org/about/advisory-teams/ethanol/
