Gevo Inc. recently announced that it expects to supply its renewable alcohol-to-jet fuel (ATJ) to the Virgin Australia Group. The Virgin Australia Group will be responsible for coordinating the purchase, supply and blending of the ATJ .

As the predominate supplier of cellulosic biofuel to the Renewable Fuel Standard, renewable natural gas (RNG) is experiencing a growth rate unprecedented in the sector.
EU-funded project COMSYN aims to develop a production concept for competitive biobased fuels by means of a compact gasification and synthesis process. The project aims to achieve production costs of up to 35 percent less than alternative routes.
Furfural is a promising candidate in the quest for alternative biofuels. The combustion industries are very interested in what could become a potential new type of fuel derived from atmospheric-plasma treatment of biomass.
The U.S. Department of Energy announced $19.7 million in funding to help businesses move promising energy technologies from the DOE's national laboratories to the marketplace. Several bioenergy projects were among those that received funding.
