More than 2.04 billion RINs were generated under the RFS in June, up from 1.86 billion generated during the same month of last year, according to data released by the U.S. EPA. Total RIN generation for the first half of 2023 reached 11.39 billion.

Viridi, AOE partner on food waste-to-RNG project in New York

Viridi Energy has partnered with American Organic Energy to develop a food waste-to-RNG project in Yaphank, New York. The project is expected to process 210,000 tons of waste per year via anaerobic digestion, producing RNG and coproducts.
The U.S. EPA on June 21 released its final RFS “set� rule, which includes a modest increase in biomass-based diesel RVOs for 2024 and 2025. The agency, however, elected not to finalize provisions of the proposed rule related to eRINs.
