Maine city trials locally made biodiesel in select vehicles

South Portland, Maine, has begun a pilot project in which select city vehicles will run B20 for a full year to test the efficacy of the fuel in all conditions. The city has partnered with Maine Standard Biofuels, a small, local biodiesel producer.

NYC passes legislation to increase biodiesel in heating oil

The bill, which passed 47-3 on Sept. 28, will increase the amount of biodiesel in New York City's heating oil from 2 to 5 percent by Oct. 1, 2017. The blend level then moves to 10 percent in 2025, 15 percent in 2030, and 20 percent in 2034.
