The U.S. EPA has released renewable identification number (RIN) generation data for June, reporting that more than 1.7 billion RINs were generated during the month, bringing the total for the first half of the year to nearly 9.21 billion.
More than 369.5 million D4 biomass-based diesel RINs were generated in June, bringing the net total for the first six months of the year to 1.63 billion. Most, 1.32 billion, have been generated for biodiesel, with 319.46 million generated for nonester renewable diesel, and 733,351 generated for renewable jet fuel. More than 1.24 billion D4 RINs have been generated domestically, with 244.31 million generated by importers and 148.55 million generated by foreign entities.

So far this year, 18.32 million D5 RINs have been generated for ethanol, with 10.49 million generated for naptha, 809,121 generated for heating oil, and 3.3 million generated for nonester renewable diesel. More than 27.94 million D5 RINs have been generated by domestic producers, with 4.97 million generated by importers.
Nearly 1.31 billion D6 renewable fuel RINs were generated in June, bringing the net total for the first half of the year to 7.45 billion. The majority, 7.26 billion, have been generated for ethanol, with 55.38 million generated for biodiesel, 143.32 million generated for nonester renewable diesel, and 81,642 generated for butanol. Nearly 7.26 billion D6 RINs have been generated domestically, with 60.52 million generated by importers and 143.32 generated by foreign entities.
No D7 cellulosic diesel RINs were generated in June. The net total for the first six months of the year is 114,835, all of which were generated in March for cellulosic heating oil by importers.
