The U.S. EPA has released renewable identification number (RIN) data for October, announcing that nearly 1.68 billion RINs were generated during the month, including more than 19.23 million cellulosic RINs.

More than 18.85 million D3 cellulosic biofuel RINs were generated in October, bringing the net total for the first 10 months of the year to 175.59 million. Nearly 5.6 million D3 RINs have been generated for ethanol so far this year, along with 109.46 million generated for renewable compressed natural gas and 60.57 million for renewable liquefied natural gas. More than 153.55 million D3 RINs were generated domestically, with 22.8 million generated by importers.

According to the EPA, 377,775 D7 cellulosic diesel RINs were generated in October, bringing the net total for the first ten months of the year to 1.34 million, all of which were generated for cellulosic heating oil by importers.

Nearly 5.51 million D5 advanced biofuel RINs were generated in October, bringing the net total for the first ten months of the year to 107.74 million. More than 74.22 million D5 RINs have been generated for ethanol, with 25.35 million generated for naptha, 1.34 million generated for heating oil, 6.81 million generated for non-ester renewable diesel, and 118,584 generated for renewable compressed natural gas. Approximately 55.2 million D5 RINs were generated domestically, with 52.63 million generated by importers.

More than 1.3 billion D6 renewable fuel RINs were generated in October, bringing the net total for the first 10 months of the year to 12.53 billion. Most, 12.33 billion, were generated for ethanol, with 217.51 million generated for nonester renewable diesel. Approximately 12.32 billion D6 RINs have been generated domestically, with 10.3 million generated by importers and 217.51 million generated by foreign entities.

More than 349.49 million D4 biomass-based diesel RINs were generated in October, bringing the net total for the first ten months of the year to 3.15 billion. The majority, 2.53 billion, were generated for biodiesel, with 637.17 million generated for biodiesel, and 2.31 million generated for renewable jet fuel. Approximately 2.27 billion D4 RINs were generated domestically, with 610.87 million generated by importers and 286.3 million generated by foreign entities.
