The U.S. exported 67,622.2 metric tons of biodiesel and biodiesel blends of B30 and greater in June, according to data released by the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service on Aug. 6. Biodiesel imports reached 99,610.1 metric tons for the month.
The 67,622.2 metric tons of biodiesel exported in June was down when compared to both the 71,012 metric tons exported in May and the 118,069.7 metric tons exported in June of last year.
The U.S. exported biodiesel to approximately eight countries in June. Canada was the top destination for U.S. biodiesel exports at 61,224.6 metric tons, followed by Peru at 5,985.7 metric tons and Singapore at 245.8 metric tons.

The value of U.S. biodiesel exports was at $87.76 million in June, down from $97.16 million the previous month and $214.59 million in June 2023.
Total U.S. biodiesel exports for the first half of the year reached 292,058 metric tons at a value of $402.21 million, compared to 466,808.3 metric tons exported during the same period of last year at a value of $819.26 million.
The 99,610.1 metric tons of biodiesel and biodiesel blends of B30 or greater imported in June was down when compared to both the 127,104.7 metric tons imported in May and the 139,086 metric tons imported in June of last year.
The U.S. imported biodiesel from approximately eight countries in June. Canada was the top supplier of biodiesel to the U.S. at 36,944.5 metric tons, followed by South Korea at 19,651 metric tons and Spain at 19,346 metric tons.

The value of U.S. biodiesel imports reached $130.27 million in June, down from $165.18 million the previous month and $227.98 million in June 2023.
Total U.S. biodiesel imports for the first half of 2024 reached 898,990.2 metric tons at a value of $1.24 billion, compared to 795,239.8 metric tons exported during the same period of 2023 at a value of $1.39 billion.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration maintained its forecast for 2025 and 2026 biodiesel, renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production in its latest Short-Term Energy Outlook, released July 8.

U.S. fuel ethanol capacity fell slightly in April, while biodiesel and renewable diesel capacity held steady, according to data released by the U.S. EIA on June 30. Feedstock consumption was down when compared to the previous month.
XCF Global Inc. on July 8 provided a production update on its flagship New Rise Reno facility, underscoring that the plant has successfully produced SAF, renewable diesel, and renewable naphtha during its initial ramp-up.
