Amp Americas has sold 20 ampCNG fueling stations to American Natural Gas for $41 million. Amp Americas will continue to own and operate its Indiana biogas operations and plans to break ground on two additional dairy RNG projects this year.
Another small refinery exemption (SRE) application for the Renewable Fuel Standard's 2018 compliance year has been declared ineligible or withdrawn, according to updated SRE data posted to the U.S. EPA website on June 24.
EPA opens Section 610 review of RFS

The U.S. EPA published a notice in the Federal Register June 24 announcing it has opened a review of the Renewable Fuel Standard under Section 610 of the Regulatory Flexibility Act. A public comment period is open through Aug. 22.
HC2 Holdings' American Natural Gas acquires ampCNG

HC2 Holdings Inc. announced June 17 that its energy portfolio company American Natural Gas has acquired ampCNG, a natural gas fuel provider, for $41 million. ANG aims to provide 100 percent RNG by 2020.

Kinetrex breaks ground on RNG plant in Indianapolis

Kinetrex Energy, EDL and South Side Landfill announced June 17 that they have broken ground on a new RNG facility in Indianapolis. The completed facility will convert landfill gas into approximately 8 million gallons of RNG each year.

Smithfield Foods Inc. has announced the construction of new biogas gathering systems in Missouri and Utah, which bring the company steps closer to delivering RNG to communities in multiple states using manure from its hog farms.

GESS to build 6 anaerobic digester facilities in Idaho

GESS International will make a $240 million investment in Cassia County, Idaho, to develop six anaerobic digester facilities. The biogas plants will be located on several dairy cattle feedlots. Construction is expected to begin later this year.
