The plant's Biomass Fluid Catalytic Cracking unit has completed its first uninterrupted 30-day run. It also made its first shipment of cellulosic gasoline June 28, and on the same day KiOR commenced regular shipments of both gasoline and diesel.
Brazilian biodiesel producer BSBios, a joint venture between BSPAR and Petrobras Biofuel, has exported its, and Brazil's, first commercial shipment of biodiesel June 25, the company stated. A small 6,600 gallon load is headed to Rotterdam Harbor.
Australian Renewable Fuels has recommenced exportation of biodiesel. The company's first shipment of approximately 1.5 million gallons of biodiesel is now en route to the U.S., to be followed by another shipment of 1.32 million gallons in August.
US EPA approves EcoEngineers, Genscape importer RIN QAPs

The QAP program as outlined in the EPA's NPRM was written to cover only domestic production, but now RINs generated by importers on foreign production and RINs generated by foreign companies are covered by EcoEngineers' and Genscape's QAP programs.
The unique station, part of the I-75 Green Corridor Project, offers biodiesel produced from waste oils in a process that uses 100 percent renewable solar electricity. Customers over the past year include actor Woody Harrelson and the Tour de Fat.

U.S. imports of biomass-based diesel skyrocketed at the end of the first quarter as the nation imported more than eight times the volume in March over February, according to new EIA data. Gross U.S. imports jumped to 17.3 million gallons in March.
According to Regulation 490/2013, provisional dumping margins on various Argentine biodiesel exporters range from 6.8 to 10.6 percent. For Indonesian biodiesel exporters, the provisional dumping margins range from zero to 9.6 percent.
The Iowa legislature passed H.F. 640 on May 22, legislation that protects retailers from Big Oil efforts to restrict competition by guaranteeing local retailers the right to offer the ethanol and biodiesel blends of their choice, such as B20 or E15.

EU welcomes registration of Argentine, Indonesian imports

The EC published a regulation making Argentine and Indonesian biodiesel imports subject to registration in frame of an antisubsidy complaint. This decision supports arguments drawn by the EU biodiesel industry that DETs distort international trade.
A new report from the Iowa Department of Revenue shows biodiesel sales and use rose more than 60 percent in 2012. The IBB said the increase demonstrates that energy policies are working to replace foreign oil with Iowa-grown fuels like biodiesel.
Biox's Hamilton, Ontario, biodiesel refinery is located immediately adjacent to the Shell distribution terminal, which allows for a pipeline to be installed connecting the two facilities. The connection is slated for completion late this year.
Under the new commercial agreement, Tesoro Refining and Marketing Co. LLC will purchase crude oil from Sapphire Energy Inc.'s Green Crude Farm in Columbus, N.M., which recently reached a new milestone: continuous cultivation and crude oil production.

Petroleum Marketers Association of America consists of 8,000 independent petroleum marketers nationwide. For RFS solutions, the organization is partnering with RINAlliance, which, in turn, is working with EPA preregistered QAP provider EcoEngineers.
92 percent of participants noted they would more likely purchase algae-derived fuel for environmental benefits; 70 percent said they would purchase the fuel more frequently if it were derived from algae; and 40 percent said they'd pay a premium.
Beginning March 1, SeQuential-Pacific Biodiesel returns to 99 percent biodiesel blends for its local retail outlets after offering B50 for the colder months. B99 will be available at more than 30 locations across Oregon and Washington for $3.99/gal.
Methes Energies Canada has signed a contract with a U.S. client for the delivery of 50 railcars of ASTM quality biodiesel. The delivery of approximately 1.2 million gallons of biodiesel will take place over the next several weeks, said the firm.
