US Department of Commerce issues final antidumping determination

The commerce department found that biodiesel imports from Argentina and Indonesia are sold into the U.S. below fair value, and the cash deposit requirements on imports from these countries will be updated based on the final amount of dumping found.
Following a recent transpacific flight powered by carinata biojet fuel, Agrisoma Biosciences and Nuseed are in discussions to develop a distribution agreement for carinata seed. Both events signal the beginning of a new market for Australian growers.
The world's first dedicated biofuel flight between the U.S. and Australia, QF96 from Los Angeles to Melbourne, was scheduled to depart Jan. 29. The biofuel, processed from Brassica Carinata by AltAir Fuels, powered Qantas' Dreamliner 787-9.
EU antidumping duties against Indonesian biodiesel are expected to be lowered, following a WTO panel report stating that the duties are inconsistent with provisions in established trade rules and must be brought into conformity with GATT 1994.
Biodiesel Trade Cases Continue to Advance

The U.S. International Trade Commission determined in a 4-0 vote that the U.S. biodiesel industry is materially injured by biodiesel imports from Argentina and Indonesia, which the U.S. Department of Commerce previously determined are subsidized.
The commerce department issued its final determination in the case of subsidized biodiesel imports from Argentina and Indonesia. Importers must pay cash deposits of more than 70 percent for Argentine and 34 to 65 percent for Indonesian biodiesel.

The U.S. Commerce Department announced April 13 initiation of antidumping and countervailing duty investigations of biodiesel imports from Argentina and Indonesia. U.S. producers testified on the same date to the International Trade Commission.
Spectro Scientific was awarded U.S. patent 9,448,112 B2 for a method to measure two key vehicle fluids. The patent for multifunctional fluid meter and method for measuring coolant, biodiesel, gas-ethanol and DEF has also been granted in Australia.

The National Biodiesel Board filed an antidumping and countervailing duty petition March 23, making the case that Argentine and Indonesian companies are violating trade laws by flooding the U.S. market with dumped and subsidized biodiesel.
Just hours after the NBB filed an antidumping and countervailing duty petition claiming Argentine and Indonesian companies violate trade laws by flooding the U.S. with dumped biodiesel, other groups began taking sides in the developing trade war.
Portuguese biodiesel plant manufacturer IncBio has developed a new crude palm oil extraction technology that the company says can achieve an oil extraction rate of more than 25 percent, thereby increasing oil extraction by an additional 25 percent.
Two Singapore-based companies, Agritrade Resources Ltd. and Solfuels Holdings Pte Ltd., have jointly acquired the former Delta American Fuel LLC biodiesel plant in Helena, Arkansas. The facility will be retrofitted with multifeedstock technology.
The General Court of the European Union has annulled antidumping measures imposed three years ago on Argentine and Indonesian biodiesel imports. The court made its ruling Sept. 15 in five separate judgements addressing cases brought by six companies.
