Renewable Energy Group Inc. on Nov. 5 announced its financial results for the third quarter ended Sept. 30, 2020. Revenues for the three-month period were $576 million on 176 million gallons of fuel sold.
Marathon Petroleum is in the process of starting up its renewable diesel facility in Dickinson, North Dakota, and is progressing with plans to covert its Martinez, California, refinery to renewable diesel production.
Neste has agreed to acquire Bunge Loders Croklaan's refinery plant located in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The facility is connected to Neste's adjacent plant via pipeline and consists of a pretreatment facility, tank farm, and jetties.
Honeywell UOP announced on Nov. 2 that a second Ecofining process unit with a capacity of 30,000 barrels per day will more than double the annual production capacity of Diamond Green Diesel's renewable diesel plant in Norco, Louisiana.

The biodiesel and renewable diesel industries have a vision to exceed 6 billion gallons by 2030 and with advancements in feedstocks, 15 billion gallons by 2050. The NBB believes the industry can reach that goal.
While China's current biodiesel use is low, a report recently filed with the USDA FAS's Global Agricultural Information Network notes that increasingly stringent environmental measures are driving prospects for expanded use of the fuel.
